Therapy

I am primarily trained as a trauma-oriented clinician, and almost everyone I work with has, at some point or another, adapted to very stressful conditions. Whether you are living with PTSD, or simply working through the daily grind of being trans in this world, you are definitely not alone. Because every course of therapy is different, I don’t yet know what our work together might look like. But I do know that it has the power to be life-changing.
If you have experienced trauma or toxic stress, you may be finding it difficult eat, sleep, focus, calm down, feel excited, or be in relationships in the ways that you want. Whatever reaction you’re currently having was very helpful to you at one time, but if it’s no longer serving you then we can work on that. Most of the time we would do this by talking about what’s going on in your life right now, and figuring out how to understand it in the context of your past experiences.
Other Details
If you are transgender, gender expansive, or otherwise full of gender feels, come on in. I specialize in working with TGE adults and some older adolescents.
If you are neurodivergent (or think you might be), please know I believe self-diagnosis is valid, and also I can work with you on formal diagnosis if that's a goal.
If you are looking solely for a letter of support for gender affirming surgery, please read the process on my Letters page.
I work via telehealth with individuals anywhere in California, Illinois, and New York.
My fee is $200 per session. I can provide a superbill for you to use for out-of-network benefits. If you struggle with paperwork and it's easier to outsource it, I can work with Mentaya to submit your bills (they do charge you a percentage of your claim).
I am no longer in-network with any insurance.
I sometimes have drop-in clinics in Queens, New York. These are low-cost, in-person, and intended for community members and comrades.
The therapy I practice is explicitly liberationist, intersectional, and noncarceral, as well as aspirationally decolonial. I’m happy to talk more about what this means to me, in both my theory and my practice.
Consultation
If you are a clinician and would like additional supervision or consultation related to your work with transgender and gender expansive people who have experienced trauma and stress, I’m happy to talk with you about working together. I have a significant amount of experience as a clinical supervisor and consultant, and I am qualified to offer mentorship for hours toward certification in WPATH’s GEI certification program. My fee for consultation and mentorship is $200 per meeting.
